Make a Difference Ministry Web Banner
We want to Celebrate all of life together. We believe that as we worship and serve together, laugh and cry together, work, play, and rest together, experiment together, forgive one another, communicate with each other – our connection to Jesus will grow and we will be connected to one another.

Contact our Children’s Minister Sherry Allen for more information about any of our children’s ministries.
Mt. Washington United Methodist Church has multiple experiences where we seek to CONNECT children to Jesus and CULTIVATE growth in their lives.  Every person who will work with your child has been through our Safe Sanctuaries Training. This training involves a background check.

Available during Worship Experiences and Sunday School for Newborn through Preschool. Our Nursery is staffed by professional, licensed, and regularly evaluated child-care workers. Children are your most treasured gift God has given you, and we don’t take that for granted. Our worship gatherings are intended to be an engaging experience in which God reveals himself to you. In the same way, we want our littlest children to experience the love and care of God during their time in nursery.

Worship actives planned just for children during the 11 AM worship experience. Children (preschool – 1st Grade) will be dismissed following the opening worship set

Wednesday evenings, 6:30-8:00 PM

This is a weekly experience involving a bible lesson, games, crafts, snacks and more faith based experiences geared for Elementary Age.

10:00 am – Sunday mornings

Age appropriate classes are available for children of all ages

“Pass the Patience!”  “Share the Chair!”   What???  How long can you wait for something you really want?  One minute, five minutes, 25 years??  We found it can be difficult to wait just 10 seconds to pass the ball (“patience”)!  God taught Abraham and Sarah the importance of waiting for His promise even though it took 25 years.

Wow!  There are so many cool lessons in the Bible.  We would love to have you come explore these lessons with us each week.

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God and changes God’s people. Our Church is dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Monday we send out a PRAYER CONNECTION email (with printed copies available the following Sunday) so that we can join in praying for you or with you for someone else.  We also have to small groups who meet for a time centered around prayer.  You are invited to share a prayer request to be shared in these ways.

Our youth ministry is for any middle or high school student.

At MWUMC we strive to have a youth group that focuses on connecting our youth to Christ and learning how we are to live our lives in a way that others to want to know more about Christ.  Our main focus during our  Wednesday night time is Bible Study, but we throw in a lot of fun games and fellowship time to help build relationships among the youth.  We also have regular monthly activities to help encourage the youth to build strong friendships among their church family.

Youth meet during the school year on Wednesdays from 6:30 – 8 PM for a night where we students connect with each other and Jesus and have a lesson that cultivates a deeper understanding of what it means to follow Jesus as a student today.

Over the summer our youth will be participating in a variety of outings and have a varied schedule.  Check the calendar on this website to find out more.

Praise Team

Each Sunday our worship is lead by a praise team of people who lead by playing and instrument or by singing.  This team rehearses weekly. We are always open to new people using their talent to lead the church at worship.

Media & Technology

Using media is an important part of the worship ministry of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes.

MWUMChurch is a very talented church!  Each year we have put on at least one major dramatic musical production along with several other smaller productions.  Some of them are meant to be fun, but the main focus is a an opportunity to present the Gospel.
